B.
In 2 Samuel 7, David wants to build
a temple to the Lord, but is told through the prophet Nathan that he is not to do
so. In 1 Chronicles 22:7 -8, it explains
that the reason for this was most likely due to the fact that David has shed
too much blood and seen too much bloodshed to be able to build this sacred
house of the Lord.
C.
If I
were given a similar prophecy to the one given in 2 Samuel 7:12-17 I think I
would feel a great relief. I would also
think it would bring peace of mind to know that my seed should be established
forever.
2 Samuel
7:16 is a Messianic prophesy because David was also a name used to refer to
Christ. This verse tells of the Saviors
seat being established on earth.
David
responds by saying that the Lord already knows his thoughts, and then offers great
Thanksgiving unto the Lord and shouts of praise.
